Branch organisationsAEO CertificationThe increasing danger of international terrorism has forced customs to play a different role in international trade. Safety is becoming an increasingly more important concept, especially after the attack on the Twin Towers in 2001 and the AEO certification is one of the consequences of this. AEO stands for Authorised Economic Operator. In order to be considered for a certificate, we as a company must be able to show that we are trustworthy, safe and solid. A company can call itself trustworthy if all its business and administrative processes are in order. A solid company is one that has been in good financial health for a long time. A secure company is a company that excludes people with dubious intentions, especially those that have committed finance-related offences in the past. In our county of transit and trade, being able to handle customs formalities in a fast and reliable fashion is a must. Because we process safe cargo flows more quickly, customs can concentrate on cargo with a higher risk profile. In April 2008, Beijer was one of the first nineteen companies to be awarded the AEO Certificate Customs Simplification and Safety. ISO CERTIFIED / BVQI
The ISO 9001:2008 is a standard that sets requirements for an organisation’s quality system and the way in which it handles its quality policy. After the company has successfully undergone an external audit, it receives a certificate that proves it meets these requirements. FENEXFENEX, the Netherlands Association for Forwarding and Logistics, serves the interests of Dutch shipping agents (goods shipment organisers) and other logistics providers. FENEX also provides its members with legal and customs-related advice, develops standard documents for the industry and arranges training courses in the shipping, logistics and customs legislation fields.
